What health-related labelling is present on foods and non-alcoholic beverages?
This module aims to monitor health-related labelling components on food packaging in Canada. A step-wise approach will be used to assess the nature and extent of health-related food labelling in Canada over time. Information on nutrition and health claims on healthier and less healthy foods as well as the type of claims (i.e., nutrient content or comparative claims, reduction of disease risk claims or general health claims, etc.) present on packaged food products are collected.
Preliminary results related to this module
Preliminary results on the healthfulness of packaged foods with and without nutrition claims in Canada were presented at the World Public Health Nutrition Congress 2024 in London on June 2024. Click here to view the poster.
