What is the availability of healthy and unhealthy foods and non-alcoholic beverages in communities and within retail outlets?


This module aims to monitor 1) the geographic patterning of retail food outlets at the community level; and 2) the availability, placement and promotion of foods at the consumer level (in-store) environment. The monitoring approach seeks to collect information on the density of healthy and unhealthy food outlets; the proximity of healthy and unhealthy food outlets to homes/schools; and the availability of healthy and unhealthy foods in-store.
